The next morning we headed out early on the ferry to Murano and Burano
We stopped at Cesare Toffolo's shop and studio where he showed us his private upstairs gallery - amazing work!
He also told us directions to Lucio Bubacco's Studio...
Through the fancy iron worked gate, down the hall, past the furnace, on the left... But he wasn't there
We walked around a bit more and then headed to Burano.
We found Cesare's son's shop (Murano is apparently not big enough for two Toffolos) and talked to him for a bit and then we went to the lace museum. The work was so gorgeous and intricate. They had a huge collection of locally made and foreign lace from the past and present.

As we walked around the museum some of the local women came in and started working on projects. Sadly my five words of Italian were not enough to fully communicate with them but it was really exciting to see the work in progress.
