Midnight seal expedition!

Sunset hike to the cove behind the house. We heard a strange barking noise from the next cove over...

Back through the woods and over to the next cove...
The tide was out and we scrambled out to a rocky point usually underwater, slippery with seaweed

And found a family of seals. Kinda grainy picture but those blob shapes on the rocks are all seals settling down for the night:

We scrambled back to our cove in moonlight and hiked back through the dark pine forest to our house.

The next morning we got up early to kayak out to where we had found the seals:

We found a crazy red colored jellyfish:

We found them sunning on a rocky outcrop. They are those long shiny blobs on the left. They saw us coming and came out to investigate us. They swam out and surrounded us and poked their heads up to look at us when we had our heads turned.
