Old Faithful |
The next day we hiked out to some of the thermal pools and Geysers behind Old Faithful. We came to Castle Geyser first and heard that there was a 4 hour time period where it was supposed to go off - it was three hours into that period and hadn't gone off yet. We joined the large crowd that was waiting around. David set up his tripod. We waited for about 20 minutes and got really bored so we decided to keep hiking - we would probably miss it but we had already seen Old Faithful.
We hiked around a loop for about two hours and were exhausted from walking and taking so many photos. We started back towards Castle Geyser and our car when we heard lots of water flowing. We looked at our phones and it was way past the time Castle was supposed to go off but we ran towards it anyways. And there it was an hour and a half late but going off with no one around:
